The website available at alumni.elte.hu (hereinafter: Website) is a site hosting the social and professional network created and managed by the Eötvös Loránd University (hereinafter:  ELTE), in order to allow alumni / graduates to keep in touch, to enhance effective organization of private and professional gatherings, training, operation of Alumni chapters and forming groups around verious topics, and promote employment and careers of alumni and development of the alumni activities for a lifetime.

The user (hereinafter: User) of this platform is the one interested in the Alumni life of ELTE, alumni of ELTE, graduate of the university, who registered with a valid email address, date of birth, start and end of studies in order to activate his/her account and to use the Website. Other users (anonymous visitors) may access the opening page of the Website, but they are not allowed to sign in, create or visit the profiles, post comments or participate in discussions.

The use of this Website implies acceptance of the present Terms of Use.

This Website may only be used in accordance with the above named purposes of the Website and the ELTE Alumni Concept and ELTE Alumni Regulation.

The User undertakes to register and to use a username or email address that doesn’t infringe the rights of third parties (family name, brand etc.).

The User may not copy or reproduce or use otherwise in any form or by any means (i.a. by creation of links) any contents, information or materials of this Website without the expressed written permission of ELTE and/or the property holder of such information and materials. ELTE grants a permission to the Users to use the contents for personal, non-commercial purposes by visualizing, downloading or printing parts of the content in accordance with the function and purpose of the Website.

The Website is the platform of civilised personal and professional communication between the alumni. Harrasement, attack on people based on protected characteristics (as defined in § 8 of Act No. CXXV. of 2003, i.a. age, gender, sexual orientation, race, colour, ethnicity, religious belief, disability or illness), violent and sexual contents and party politics are excluded. Business advertisements are allowed only with the prior written consent of ELTE, job offers are allowed in an unobtrusive manner. Any content disclosed by the User on this Website should be free from the third parties’ rights (i.a. copyright, trademark, goodwill) and suitable for publication. The User is solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and consents before publication, and shall be obliged to check that the content is free of viruses or other harmful elements. The User shall refrain from all kinds of modification, interference or access to the Website – including automated data collection – to which no expressed permission of ELTE has been granted.

ELTE may at any time modify or remove any user content, without notice, at ELTE’s sole discretion, particularly if – in ELTE’s judgement – it infringes others' rights, the integrity of the community or the spirit of the Website. ELTE may at any time call upon the User to remove a specific content or refrain from publication of specific contents, the User is obliged to comply with such calls within one working day. ELTE may at any time, without notice, in its sole discretion decide to suspend, limit or permamently remove (delete) the registration and the user account, including the data content.

However, ELTE shall not monitor continuously the contents published by the Users, these do not express the views of ELTE. ELTE shall not supervise if the user contents may infringe third parties’ rights. The User shall be liable to ELTE and third persons for infringement of these Terms of Use or the applicable legal provision and shall bear and reimburse all costs and damages caused. Should the User notice the illicit use of this Website, notice should be sent to reg@alumni.elte.hu.

The User shall maintain the confidentiality of his/her account and be responsible for all activities that occur on or through his/her account, and agrees to immediately notify ELTE of any security incidents of his/her account. ELTE shall not be responsible for any damages arising out of the unauthorized use of the account. All actions taken under this account may be recorded and may be used in case of a dispute.
The User is able to configure the publicity of the data provided by her/him within the Profile settings, under Data Management.

ELTE makes efforts to publish exact and up to date information, however, it is not liable for their accidental inaccuracy. The Website, the information, and the materials are provided „as is”, and ELTE does not make any express or implied warranties for the accessibility, accuracy, relability and the content of the Website or the links it contains.

ELTE may at any time modify the present Terms of Use. The use of this Website implies acceptance of these modifications, and the User undertakes to open this site regularly to be informed about the actual terms of use.

The User may at any time decide not to use the Website any more, in this case the registration may be freely cancelled.
