Summary of the lecture:

Near the end of a professional career, it is useful to look back on the main episodes of it (also reflected in the CV). However, the main topic of this talk will not be geology, but rather moral questions about the main decision points, such as:

Is teaching useful for the student, teacher, society? Is theoretical research useful? Is Petroleum exploration ethical and useful? Should I be ashamed of it? How long should we deal with petroleum? These questions will be answered by giving some case examples from my career, including a longer section on the MOL exploration success in N Pakistan.

At the end I would also try to answer the compelling question of: How to save geology for the future?
