The head of the ELTE Alumni Center was invited by the Prague University of Economics to the annual conference of Czech and Slovak universities to present the operation and results of the Eötvös Loránd University Alumni Organization.
Representatives of a dozen Czech and Slovak university took part at the conference in Prague organized this year by Vysoká Škola Ekonomická Praze (VŠE, Prague University of Economics). As an invited speaker, Csilla Pataky, head of department and member of the Alumni Council represented ELTE and presented ELTE Alumni’s operations, activities, main results and aspirations in the forty minutes.
The universities of the Czech and Slovak Republics meet regularly to develop relations with their graduates, share best practices and know-how for mutual benefit. Members of the group recognize the importance of maintaining contact with alumni and wish to develop further in this area. At the conference, representatives of their Ministry of Education presented their ideas about working with graduates, and the activities of the University Karlova and University of Economics (VŠE) was also presented. Finally a practical workshop took place, where the participants discussed the ways of establishing relationship with former students, and maintaining it, for mutual benefits, and also the effective communication methods and tools.
