ELTE Alumni Get Together in Stockholm

The ELTE Alumni Center organized an Alumni meeting for former students of Eötvös Loránd University living in Sweden on May 29, 2024 in Stockholm. The Embassy of Hungary, Stockholm and the International Alumni Chapter represented by ELTE's International Strategy Office participated in the organization and implementation of the event, and the news was also shared by the Hungarian House in Stockholm.

The meeting was hosted by the beautiful building and garden of the Embassy of Hungary, Stockholm on May 29, 2024 from 6 p.m. The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity to meet current and former ELTE students living in the area, as well as for them to meet each other. Swedish, international and Hungarian alumni, and those interested in ELTE attended the event. The embassy welcomed the gathering with great hospitality, drinks and fresh scones.

The event was opened by First Secretary Péter Győri.  In his greeting, he touched on Eötvös Loránd University and the main points of the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries, about which a meaningful video was shown. After that, Csilla Pataky, the head of the ELTE Alumni Center, welcomed the audience, and then in a speech accompanied by a slideshow, she explained the activities of the ELTE Alumni Organization, the opportunities and programs it provides. There are contents in Hungarian that can be enjoyed from afar, and some of it is also available in English. During the rest of the evening, in the beautiful summer weather, there was an opportunity for informal conversation accompanied by locally baked scones and a champagne toast.

25 people took part in the networking event, with an extremely good atmosphere. Thanks to the ELTE Alumni and the International Strategic Office, they could recieve souvenirs with ELTE Alumni inscriptions.

We would also like to thank the Embassy of Hungary, Stockholm for the hospitality, and its staff - especially Veronika Kaszás II. secretary and colleague Veronika Papp - for the kind cooperation and the active cooperation represented by the ELTE International Strategy Office to the International Alumni Chapter!
